Annual Wellness Visits: Implementation Process

Providing Annual Wellness Visits to patients covered by Medicare is a great way to grow your revenue year after year, whether you’re a practice of one physician or a large hospital system. In this video, we’re looking at Blue & Co.’s simplified implementation plan to optimize your revenue with Annual Wellness Visits. We have 4 phases from reviewing your current processes to surpassing your financial goals.

The proposed program aims to enhance Annual Wellness Visits for Medicare beneficiaries within your practice or hospital system. Phase 1 involves evaluating the current state of your practice, establishing a communication strategy, forming an AWV steering committee, and boosting your organization’s capacity for more AWVs. Phase 2 focuses on ensuring a provider-friendly workflow, implementing electronic health record triggers, demonstrating downstream revenue benefits, and launching a pilot program. Following the pilot’s success, Phase 3 aims to expand the program to all providers and locations. Finally, Phase 4 emphasizes ongoing success through regular reporting, provider feedback, and the development of audit tools to track the sustained revenue growth from AWVs.
