Blue & Co., LLC Employees Serve as Mentors in 2017 INCPAS Scholars Program

INDIANAPOLIS (August 29, 2017) – Blue & Co., LLC is proud to announce that Tanner McCaw and Jill Moore are serving as mentors in the 2017 Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) Scholars Program.

The INCPAS Scholars Program was created when members observed the diversity of the CPA profession in Indiana has not been reflective of the diversity of the general population. INCPAS formed a series of initiatives aimed at increasing awareness of the need for diversity throughout the profession, along with programs designed to encourage students of diverse backgrounds to consider accounting, including INCPAS Scholars. INCPAS hopes that these advances in diversity will not only increase the talent pool of future CPAs, but it will also enable the profession to better serve clients and employers, and strengthen the CPA’s role as an objective expert.

Tanner McCaw joined Blue & Co. in 2016, and is currently a staff accountant in the Carmel office.

“One of my top priorities since getting into public accounting has been to have a meaningful impact on the lives of students who are pursuing this profession as a career,” McCaw said. “I am very happy to say that being a mentor in the INCPAS Scholar Program will allow me to do just that.”

Jill Moore joined Blue & Co.’s Indianapolis office in 2013, and she currently serves as a manager in the tax department. This will be Moore’s second year serving as a mentor for the program, and she says that she is excited to have the opportunity to participate again.

“It makes me proud to be at a firm and in a profession that actively seeks to increase diversity,” Moore said. “I love this program because it enables mentors to enhance the students’ understanding of accounting and the many professional paths that accountants can pursue. The INCPAS has done a fantastic job creating this program with monthly meetings and discussion points to make sure the students leave with a well-rounded understanding of what all can be done as a CPA.”
