Download the 2021 Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Whitepaper

For several years, the healthcare community has struggled to find balance between reducing administrative burden, accurately recognizing and recording services provided, and upholding and providing the highest quality care possible, all while the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) operates with a budget neutral mandate.

If finalized as is, the Proposed Rule1 (CMS-1734-P) will have financial consequences on hospitals, health systems, and physicians that may not have been fully contemplated at the time of publication. These changes are currently scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2021, which does not allow for much time to prepare for and determine the financial implications of the rule.
