Period 3 Reporting Now Open: PRF Update

Reporting on Provider Relief Funds for Period 3 opened on July 1, 2022 and runs through September 30, 2022. Period 3 reporting is for any PRF payments you may have received between January 1, 2021 to June 30, 2021. Compared to Period 1 and Period 2, there were very limited payments made by HRSA in Period 3: Nursing Home Infection Control payments and delayed Phase 3 PRF payments were made in January and February 2021.

While most providers will not have a reporting requirement for Period 3, we strongly encourage you to log into the PRF reporting portal and go through the screens to Step 4 where you confirm your payments. For those of you who did not receive a payment the screen will show $0 in payments and then prompt you to log out as there is no reporting requirement.

Weekly Insights

HRSA has several updates to their website that we wanted to share with you. Most important is the addition of a new reporting Period. Previously HRSA announced that reporting would end March 31, 2023 with Period 4. Due to delays in making Phase 4 and ARP payments HRSA has added an extra reporting period.

Period 5 will cover payments received between January 1, 2022 – June 20, 2022 and reporting will occur between July 1, 2023 and September 30, 2023. Providers who received payments in this window will also have an additional 6 months to use the funds through June 30, 2023.

Please see the revised reporting dates from HRSA beginning with the current Period 3:

With these changes to the reporting Periods, we advise you to review the dates of your Phase 4 and ARP payments and ensure you understand how much time you have to use those funds.

Additional Resources from HRSA

Another update is that HRSA has expanded their website for additional resource and guidance on the reporting process. On the right hand side of the page HRSA has added numerous links for specific reporting areas and issues.

While much of this information is taken from past frequently asked questions, the information is much easier to find and examples and definitions of allowable costs & lost revenues have been expanded. We’d encourage you to visit this are as you prepare to report in the future.
