340B Recertification Window Now Open: Reminder for Hospitals

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has set the annual recertification window for the 340B Drug Pricing Program for hospitals from August 12, 2024 to September 9, 2024. The Authorizing Official and/or Primary Contact listed for hospitals should have received an email notification from HRSA earlier this month. All hospitals participating in the 340B Program must complete the eligibility recertification on the Office of Pharmacy Affairs Information System (OPAIS) website to continue participating in the 340B Program, which allows the purchasing of covered outpatient drugs at 340B prices. During recertification, the Authorizing Official must attest to the hospital’s compliance with all 340B Program requirements.

Helpful Tips for 340B Recertification Window

As you begin the recertification process, here are some tips to make sure you have a successful time recertifying your organization.

  • Ensure all contact information on the OPAIS site is accurate and up to date to make sure you continue to receive all recertification notifications.
  • Print the recertification guide and have it available for reference.
  • Print a hard copy of your hospital’s Medicare Cost Report and have it available as you complete the recertification.
  • Do not wait until the last day to complete the recertification as system issues might arise which could interrupt or prevent the completion of recertification.
