The Colleges and Universities Compliance Project, begun in 2008 by the IRS, distributed 400 questionnaires to a randomly-selected sample of schools to ensure compliance with current regulations. Based on responses to the questionnaires and details of the respective Form 990s, the IRS selected 34 of these colleges and universities for further review and found that unreported unrelated business income (UBI) in higher education was found in almost every case examined by the IRS. IHA, ICCMHC and Blue & Co. will host a refresher webinar on instructions for using Evaluation and Management (E/M) codes.

 

On January 1, 2013, major Psychiatric CPT code changes took effect impacting the Psychiatric Section of the AMA Manual. The most significant change is the elimination of CPT 90862, pharmacologic management. CPT instructs providers to use E/M codes 99201-99205 for new patients and 99211-99215 for established patients.
